Grade 11* Queen Ann Townhouse in Chelsea with a Victorian artist studio to the garden. The house is one of the most intact examples of a terrace from this period. We had first undertaken works to the property 30 years ago for the previous owner, including adding a floor, replacing all the services and extensively repairing it for them and their 3 children. The house had been a cherished family home and with the children now leaving they decided to sell. The new owner wanted to update the interior and services to make it more appropriate for their lives and 21st technology and to use the former artist studio as a library garden sitting room. The challenge was to reuse as much of the old infrastructure thereby reducing the impact on the listed paneling and structure without compromising comfort and durability of the kitchens, bathrooms and throughout.
